The Roost
About This Spot
Stepping into The Roost, nestled within the scenic embrace of Stowe’s mountain backdrop, feels like entering a thoughtfully curated retreat where vibrant energy and quiet moments coexist. This is a space where the pace naturally slows just enough to let you savor each detail—the warm glow of the fireside, the soft hum of conversation, and the inviting clink of glasses from the bar. The atmosphere strikes a unique balance, offering the casual comfort of a neighborhood spot with the elevated touches of a modern mountain lodge.
The Roost invites you to settle in, whether you're drawn by the idea of sharing plates with friends or enjoying a solitary moment at the bar. Here, the menu unfolds like a journey—serving up richly layered flavors that feel both familiar and thoughtfully reimagined. Imagine passing around savory lamb meatballs and flavorful deviled eggs before lingering over a Honey Bee Martini or a local craft beer, each sip absorbing the relaxed yet deliberate rhythm of the space.
Whether you find yourself enveloped by the cozy indoor nook, warmed by the fire and the attentive hum of service, or outside on a summer evening watching the mountain silhouette darken into dusk, The Roost feels both vibrant and welcoming. There’s a distinct charm in its versatility—equally inviting for a convivial night out with friends or a quiet breakfast that slowly unwinds alongside views of alpine green.
This is a spot where moments unfold naturally—whether it's a friendly exchange with a bartender who remembers your favorite drink, the tactile fun of a shuffleboard game breaking a evening lull, or a thoughtful pause to appreciate the careful pairing of truffle parmesan fries with the mountain air. It’s a place that appreciates the small details and how they build a memorable experience, not just a meal or a drink.
For those discovering it for the first time, The Roost offers a warm welcome and a setting that feels distinctly local, yet thoughtfully evolved. It’s the kind of destination where comfort, craft, and community come together naturally—making it a cherished spot for neighbors and visitors alike.

Clean and well maintained place. Friendly and professional staff. Can be a little difficult to get their attention when it gets busy. Good food. The breakfast seems to be a bit overpriced compared to what's available in the cafes in the village about 4 miles from the resort. All precautions are taken for COVID.

This is hands-down I'm going to be best cocktail lounges and all is well. Brian provided me with excellent customer service and was extremely friendly. The shuffle board table was my favorite part. If you are visiting Stowe, you have to check out this extra trendy cotail lounge.

Great hotel restaurant. We came here for dinner then breakfast. We ordered all the small plates for dinner to share- jalapeno poppers, pimento cheese dip, deviled eggs, lamb meatballs, wings and fries. The lamb meatballs were the highlight, so savory, tender and tasty. Local beer on tap with others in cans like HEADY TOPPER! Breakfast the next morning was also delicious. The Eggs Benny with smoked salmon was prepared perfectly and the accompanying home fries were well-seasoned and crispy. The house made corned beef hash was dynamite and the avocado toast with poached egg was also a hit.

Great menu options and delicious food in a beautiful indoor and outdoor space. The service is welcoming. We love to go and have Christian who is an exceptional server. In the summer, the outdoor space is beautiful with views of the mountain. The indoor space has a cool upscale vibe and is cozy with the fire.

Great restaurant inside Topnotch resort. I love the set up of this place, they have outside dining with fire ongoing for cold evening. Great service and food is amazingly delicious, all worth it visiting this place. Ahi tuna nachos must try, so good to start also that salmon in risotto, yum! And make some room for Blueberry tart for dessert, omg! Thumbs up! Thank you for the service. Stay safe
